Re-established 2003...Venturers have recently restarted in Douglas (due to popular demand!). The leaders are Alan Sheehan and Niamh Fulham and they meet on Thursdays from 7 to 8. Venturers are the oldest youth section in Douglas and many also help out with the younger sections. The Venturer programme is based on adventure. Their activities are challenging and fun and include camping, weekends away, archery, mountain hiking, as well as meeting other Venturers from around the country. All of this is planned, organised and run by the Venturers themselves (with minimum leader help). Activities so far this year have included Ventact, tackling Galtee Mór, learning some sign language, trips to the cinema, and writing, directing and starring in our very own animated film (Shrek 2 watch out!).
